New old cub owner
Hey folks I finally broke down and bought a Cub. Here is my dilemma, I bought a used 1641 and got a snowblower with it. The blower is a QA42A. I got it mounted on the tractor but need to get a belt. The factory belt is a 36, I tried a 38 still too short. Has anyone else done this mod before? I hate to keep bothering the dealer exchanging belts. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello and Welcome! I haven't done what you are asking, maybe someone else here will know what exact size you need. But what I have done before is measure the width of your pulley then Loosen your adjustments up for the belt almost all the way and if you have some rope you can run it through the pulleys like the belt would run and get close. I would add just alittle to the length because the rope may sit lower in the pulley. Just mark the belt and measure the length. Hope this helps!

I measured it out and came out with 37" inside length. 38" belt is 35" inside. Hoping that maybe a 40 will work. I'm heading to the dealer 1 more time to swap the belt out. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
