Wondering what everyone thinks about this. Does this type of restoration add to the value, or detract? Is that a good price with no deck or blade, but with wheel weights?

I personally like tractors that are original, but the paint scheme does look kinda cool, if it was done right.
If it works and is as nice as the ad says, I think $550 is a good deal. ![]()

not a fan of the color scheme, it is hardly recognizable as a cub anymore. Looks like a craftsman at first glance.

I think someone was sitting on a old craftsmans GT too much! I wouldn't consider paint too much of a mod since it's fairly easily changed. For the price, not too bad.

Reminds me of a SEARS CRAFTSMAN.

He's really stretching the term 'restoration'. It certainly didn't come from the factory looking like that. If I had $550 and was trying to choose between two otherwise identical tractors, an original one, and this one, I wouldn't pick this one.

If you are simply looking for a good tractor as a worker, that would fit the bill perfectly. It looks great, already has perfect tires and weights on it. You can always repaint it to look like a cub and the fact it is a 1450 with hydraulic lift is a huge plus. I would have no problem with the price if it is in that great a shape.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
