Default Rear axel play
While putting chains on my 1450 I had the rear wheels jacked up. I noticed that there was some in and out plat on the axels. They are not leaking any fluid. Is there a take up for adjustment and how much in and play is acceptable? Also, has amy one ever run chains on there front tires? Mine seem to float a lot on wet grass, am wondering about when pushing snow.

c-clip rears always have a little play but anything more than or around 1/8" may indicate something worn. Unless you were running slalom everyday since new i doubt youll find anything worn. I read somewhere cub use dart rears, dodge rears were always a little sloppy but they held up ok.

There is probally an 1/8" or so. I just didn't want to let it go and turn into something worse.

If you are seriously concerned just pull back cover and rotate rear to exposed area and pull/push axles in to see where the play is. If c-lips are loose just get a new set, if they are tight and axle isjust going from housing to spider gear pin with no wear evident just seal it back up. nothing really wrong with clip rears having a little play.

They all have some endplay...you are worrying about nothing.
