How high should the snow plow lift? When I set it up, I drove it up on 2x4's to get some down pressure. It dose'nt seem like it's high enough, only about
3 1/4". I am using the top hole in the lift arm. |

Look at this picture. I fabricated a rod with multiple holes at both ends so i can pick the lift height I want.

That is no light duty rod! That one is man-sized! I bought a 1/2" rod to make one out of. Feeling kind of wimpy right about now.

When you or I make it, we can afford the extra $1 in material so we never have to deal with it again. Mine is 3/4" rod with ends fabricated from bar steel welded on the ends. Mine is not cheap, but, probably still cost less than an OEM one would cost if I could find it!! DSC_0012220x211.jpg |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
