has anyone done a custom paint or theme paint job on a cub?
I was thinking of doing my 582 like the black and gold trans am I just restored. ![]() I love the look of both, the TA and the Cub. but should I mess with the look of the cub that much?

At the expense of the purists cringes and down in the mouth look they are your toys and boys will be boys and what you do with your cub is what you do. It may look pretty darn good. Besides you most likely have paint left over from the TA job so the expense will not be too bad.

being a TA purist , and a mod on a TA fourm . I tell guys the same. its yours to do with what you want. even if I think it'll look like crap to me. thanks for the reminder, the cub is a cub , its not a TA. I would never paint a TA yellow and white

I don't mind anything custom as long as it is well done. Some guy taking a spray can and drawing a '3' on the side of their cub is not "custom" in my book.

I just got a price for a blast and paint job. color scheme will be same as the factory 126 but the yellow is gonna be yellow blaze metallic tri coat, the white is gonna be same as wifes car, 2white platinum metallic triple coat. The wheels will be silver with clear coat which makem look a lot like chrome. Thats if I have one hell of a good growing year, price... almost 7oo bucks !!
The 122 will be red candy metallic and white suede, the 128 I hope to get from mike is gonna be international red with a black stripe. I know some dont go for all that jazz, but its my money !! till I spend it.

Nica T/A 4 speed! I had me a 77 Formula 400 back in the day. Fully loaded WS6 and super rare rear console. Now I can't find the pictures and wished I still had it.

Here are my friends custom work done on his Original and I forget the other model. They are very nicely done in my opinion and I would love to own either of them. Personnaly I prefer something to be all original, never restored, you know those rare garage finds that the owner washed after each use. Thats my favortie look, but To Each, His Own! I think with your skill painting like you did on that TA, a TA themed cub could look pretty darn cool. Especially sitting next to each other at a car show.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
