I've been browsing your forum for a while now and thought I would introduce myself. My name is Kevin and I got hooked on Cub Cadets in the late 90's when I bought a 72 at a garage sale and spent the winter restoring it. Divorce later forced the sale of it....and I've regretted parting ways with her every since ( the cub of course) and I vowed to someday restore another..
This past year my father told me I could have his two old garden tractors if I restored them both, and since the only deal better than a free tractor is two free tractors...I agreed this is on the voyage to their new home ![]() the implements Ive been coming here about every other day to look at the service manual as I put the 129 back together ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() anyway...hope to have it finished soon..I sure appreciate this forum having a downloadable service manual

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
