I recently got an 1811 that I'm working on reto and found this cub and was wondering if its worth going to get being that I'm not to familiar yet with all the cub models. The guy says its a 1965 with tiller and the 10 hp motor was overhauled in 85' and used one season and put up and never used after that. He is wanting $225 for it.

So far I see why all the signatures on people have way more than one cub. I love old metal before I had 65' scout truck cab and an 81' CJ7 I restored, lifted, and wheeled for a few years before selling them. I'm planning on making the trip about hour and half away to go look at it this weekend with trailer in tow lol.

Usually the tiller and the rear angle gear box thingy go for $200 - $350 or so. The tractor definitely needs some work. If you have room, price seems pretty good. I'm trying to get my hands on a tiller & angle drive, and they're a bit rare where I am.
FYI: the gear drive tractor like the one picture will need a creeper to get good use out of a tiller. I don't see a creeper handle, but could still be in there. edit:spelling

Buy it, forget just looking at it, you ride all that way you should own it. Not to mention regret, I regret not having the money to buy all the ones I see on a regular basis...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
