Think I have driveshaft upgrade that will work for the 1572 & 1772. I have a crank shaft adapter and pump adapter like the Cyclops use along with a 2000 series drive shaft that is shortened to fit the 72 series diesels. Variants of this setup should also work for tractors that have Kohler power, you would not need the crank adapter because the Kohlers have the proper bolt pattern to bolt the 2000 series shaft to. I can supply pump adapters for both the splined style or the 5/8” round with the spirol pin style.

Ken
That may work, I have a 1772 sitting here that I can use to fit it up on. This should be a reasonably simple install but you will need to drill and tap the input shaft for the pump so it is not for someone that is not somewhat capable with tools. Also I have not worked up pricing yet but I think it will be in the $275.00 to $300.00 range plus shipping.

not an issue for me to drill and tap. one concern i might have is on the engine side of the shaft. will the adapter fit with out hitting the steering pump or the lift cylinder. we know theres not much clearance in there. fit it up on your 1772 and let me know how it goes.

It fits fine in that area. Already have one bolted to the D640 in the 1772.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
