Default Think I might pick up this 71

What ya think? Pretty local to my house. I think it might be a nice tractor to start getting my hands dirty on and start learning.

I used to own that one, sold it to a guy in outside Paterson NJ that was going to make a puller out of it.
Not a bad price.

I think $300.00 is a little steep for a run of the mill 71.

If it has a 3 point and/or a hydraulic lift, it would be well worth the money, but there is no mention of either of those or even a mower deck...

If it runs really good and doesn't smoke at all, I might pay $250.00 for it. Ask him what his bottom dollar is, and see what happens.

That wouldn't be a bad price in my area.

You used to own this exact one? Would you mind if I called you about it?

Any chance one of these is the one I'm looking at? You have some collection of tractors!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
