Here is the motor. Today I prepared it to turn white tomorrow. After this and that, I cleaned the block with cloth rag and pure toluene. Tape where the starter generator will mount, you have good ground this way. I have plenty of gasket material, and the cam cover was not cleaning up as good, so removed, have the other parts ready!

Well, all I'm hoping for is to have a clean part for the paint to stick to. She's clean,....last time we'll see it so!

I made the first coat today. The old Kohler sucked up a lot of paint. I plan on Friday tipping the 241 over to get at the belly pan,
![]() then I might as well run out the rest of the sealer on the engine. Sure is not pretty, but I have some other special primer for it which will roll out the red carpet for the yellow. ![]() ![]()

Been busy, but not much to report. However, I'm happy with the way preparing and sealing work has gone thus far. I have now begun to take inventory of all engine related components, hunt them down, check off what I have prepared and what I need to. A lot of work is still needed to begin assembly of the Kohler K241, and I'm not sure when I will get to the yellow! But anyways, here is a up date thus far!
Beginning the first coat ![]() Moving along, up to the second coat ![]() ![]() ![]() Governor control arm, points cover, cam cover and hardware ![]() ![]() Had to make a new cam cover gasket since I have all kinds of gasket material ![]() No need to hammer out gaskets. All I needed to do was apply pressure to the die and turn clock wise and the hole was cut right out! Here is another look at improvise at its finest, ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
