![]() I was looking for a snow blower for my newly acquired 2072, and found this old girl for $675. The PO painted the tractor red to match the cab. Runs like a champ, and the sale included everything in the picture, as well as a 300 watt electric heater mounted in the cab. The alternator can't keep up with the heater and lighting load, so I'll be adding a larger alternator for next year. |

Thinking of adding a pulley to the drive shaft, and stuffing a Denso 40 amp in the tunnel. Haven't measured yet, but think it would be possible.

Not sure you want to put a side load on the drive shaft. You may be better off just hanging a box off the back with a BIG battery in it that you can just recharge when your not running it.
Looks like a good deal to me, congrats.

Take the pulley off and drive it off the back of the pump.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
