HF Tractor Lift

The lift would be pretty cool to have...... but if this thing is 300lb. lift capacity as the specs say,I'm ....not ... so ..... sure !!!!. It's hard to find any info on weight of the tractor but I found at least one info mentioning 650lb. shipping weight and that's without the implements.

Bare with me here because I'm not a by any means a math wiz but since we are only lifting the front of the tractor wouldn't that cut down on the weight? Oh and I totally agree with you about the JACKS!!! Let's be honest here, you really want to put your life in the hands of a lift that's on sale from HF HAHAHAHA! Backup plan full in effect here!!!

Go get the bathroom scale, jack up the front of the tractor, slide the scale under 1 front wheel, lower the jack and see what 1 wheel weighs then double it and you'll know what your dealing with. Northern tools has jacks with higher weight ratings but also higher prices.

I think as long as your only lifting the front it will be fine, the rear end of the cub is where all the weight is at. I once stopped at a scale with my cub on and with all the wheel weights and fluid in the tires with the mower deck on it was right at 900lbs but as I mentioned most of the weight was in the rear.

I was thinking along the lines that Sam mentioned except my thought was raise the front, place a scale under the front, and use something like a piece of 2X12 and place it vertical between the tractor and the scale. Only problem would be if the front of the tractor exceeds the limit of the scale.

My Dad got me one of these for Christmas last year. He got it somewhere else but it looks to be the same model. It will lift the 1864, but struggles. It does have a safety lock on it. Jack stands aren't a bad idea but can get in the way depending on wht you are doing.

The pictures of the 2 lifts scares me. I want someway to secure the front tire to the lift so it doesn't come out.

Gene I didn't look carefully at the one you posted the first time. I don't see a safety on that now that I look again. Unless you slide a pin through that hole.

You could use a small ratchet strap, but once it is fully lifted and the brake is locked, it's not going anywhere. I kinda see what you are saying on the one the PO posted with the adjustable pin for different size tires.
