Picked up this 1872 over the weekend. And only had to travel about 15 miles to get it
![]() It's a 11?? hour tractor with the 60" deck and the front remote hydraulics. PO I picked it up from didn't know much about it because it came with the farm when he bought it last year if I recall correctly. Went to pick it up Sunday evening and once the tractor was on my trailer I didn't have room for the deck, so the PO hooked up his trailer and followed us home. Heck of a nice guy ![]() So from what I can tell from looking things over fairly good is the rear end bolts are good and tight without ever being loose. Drive shaft is tight without any movement, and the fan is still intact. Need a set of decals.....so far. Going to be taking the fenders off for a good cleaning along with a fluid and filter change. The woman (Nancy) is pretty fired up, because this is going to be her grass cutting machine, and that means she can cut more grass with the 60" deck and leaves me with less

Nice Find. Nancy will love the power steering. I made the mistake of letting my wife drive mine - now she's the one who's running it all the time.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
