Default Hello from PA

Thanks for the add, new to the site. been starting to go old school with these cubs, traded my 2013 1045 LTZ model with 33 hours for a Cub 1450 with blade and chains. then my buddy had a lead on another cub. we went and picked it up. got it to my house went over it and then my buddy said he didn't want it. sold it to me for what he gave for it. $50! now I will have one to mow and one to blow snow

Welcome! You and friend stole that cyclops wow. And with wheel weights to boot. Good idea trading for the 1450, the quiet line series is a great one as well. You've got yellow fever.

Thanks all. I could not believe he sold it too me, but he said he want's another manual trans model cub. my friend has a 782 and a 108. when we got back to my place with the 1862, we checked it all out and all it needed was battery. put a battery in it and it wouldn't turn over. it grunted and tried. so after looking over everything, we had found out that a mouse had built a nest inside the flywheel area and when we tried to start it, the nest got hung up in the starter. so 20 minutes later of pulling all the nest crap out, we poured a little gas in the carb, choked it and it fired right. never smoked or nothing. I am so happy to have it. I live in south central Pa, chambersburg area.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
