Default 1650 engine swap?
Hey guys! ive got this 1650 with no engine,but I have an vanguard 16hp
twin. I found a web site that (repowers) equipment with these and offers
a kit for the 1650, its pretty $$. Is there that much to it? will it fit comfortably?

I think it's a pretty simple swap but I don't know if you can use the side panels anymore.

Dan,
I would try to find a 16 Kohler that came out of a Cub Cadet and put in your Cub Cadet 1650? A good running 14 horsepower Kohler will do a good job.

The mounts, driveshaft hub, PTO, wire harness and possible fame cutting could be involved in transplanting the Briggs Vanguard into your Cub. Not worth the aggervation in my book.

I would sell-trade the Briggs Vanguard for a K341 (16 horsepower) Kohler.
