I picked this up a few weeks ago, 500 hours on the clock.
PO said the driveshaft was vibrating, well I found the bolts for the motor were missing except one. So new bolts and got it to run after a carb clean and new kit. Then I saw that they recycled some tire sidewalls for new rag joints, mud tires to be exact. This is a new one for me, It will get fixed with correct ones.

If your gonna use mud tires for rag joints you need Mud tires for the tractor, every one knows that. Summer tire rag joints for turf's, can't believe what some PO's do.

I did that in a pinch/temporary deal as my FIL's mustang steer rag joints roached out in my driveway and needed to get it out of there. If you ever want to do something very difficult, try cutting those out of a tire and then drilling the holes........wow, never again

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
