Default A 1204, really?

Had to pick up this 1204 for some reason. Well, I think the reason is I didn't have to pick it up, it was delivered, good price, quite a few hours on the clock but decent and all there. Obviously needs the standard pressure washing and itemized repairs. Have to thank my buddy Tim for somewhat enabling me but I have been looking at some of these style machines that he and Jon have and am a fan. Of course I wish it was a dual stick 1812 or whatever but this will start my 80's style cub addiction.

Nice find, too bad it is a lawn mower not a garden tractor.
You know Mike we have a few real garden tractors with the manly parts on them,
not like that little shifter thingy you have.
Come up here, stop by sometime.

I was told all I have to do is put a "real" rear end and drive shaft in it and then it becomes not a lawn mower. Remember the originals were belt drive too buddy.
And this was a somewhat Lew price including delivery so being the "slacker" that I am I jumped right on it. And who knows, might end up being a flipper. After all I also forgot to mention I bought it for the money condition 44c deck too.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
