1811 steering column shaft
Have a friend working on his 1811. He noticed something on the shaft.
Anyone seen this before?

Not knowing what you are referring to, I can only assume the blue color of the shaft that is caused by the induction hardening process of the worm end of the shaft.
Or if the stub worm shaft is butt welded to the steering column extension. either of which is of no concern as the shaft does not spin, just turned manually, and very slow.
