Default New Cub Scout

Hello all,

New to lawn tractors, cub cadets and what they’re all about. I picked up a 1105
For 80 bucks. Turns over but doesn’t start. I’ve purchased a replacement carb which has the choke on the wrong side. Took the old one apart which wasn’t bad. The wiring has disconnected plugs..rats nest and the ignition is.. It’s Little rough but if I can get it running I’ll put money into it. Is there a reason why I can’t find any info on this guy? I feel like I’m missing something like I should be calling it something other than “cub cadet 1105”. I’d also like to know if it’s worth even bothering with
this or should I get rid of it. Would love some of y’all’s insight.

P.s - If anyone has a wiring diagram, any diagram, I’ll be in your debt.

First, welcome to OCC.........

The 1105 is a Lawn Tractor made between 1985-1986. It has Briggs & Stratton 11 HP Engine in it. You obviously know, it is a Gear Drive tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
