Default SLTX 1050 oil leak underneath

I noticed a small drop of oil under my SLTX 1050 yesterday. I attached some pictures hoping someone here with more expertise could help identify how to fix this.

It looks like engine oil or something is leaking from the rear axle.

perhaps its a seal?

I havent cleaned the parts off yet to trace its origin yet, but it looks like a mess of grease, oil, and dirt right now.

What could cause this to leak?

Can I use a pressure washer on low to quickly clean off the gook?

Thank you.

What you have is a Hydro-Gear transaxle and yes, they are filled with oil, and yes they do have seals.
Unfortunately seals do begin to leak over time and that appears to be your situation.
Seal kits are available for that transaxle but requires removal and disassembly of the transaxle, not a job for the inexperienced.

You're gonna need more than duct tape and WD40 to fix that oil leak...

Thanks for the reply.

While I search for the manual, is there a filler opening to refill the oil in the same manner we refill engine oil with the engine oil filler opening?

See the pic below. I have circled where you can fill it. If you do some searching, I think you will find it takes 20W-50 motor oil. If you resolve the leak, you may want to use a extraction/vacuum pump to remove as much oil as possible and then refill it. I had a LTX1045 and mine had a Hydro-Gear. That is what I did.

Maybe a rabbits foot and a bible
Additionally I would spread newspaper underneath to try and isolate the exact point of the leak

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
