![]() ![]() Runs real nice. I got it from the grandson of the original owner. Came with a blade and chains. ![]() Grandpaw made a carrier for the rear to add weight. I think it must have held square pavers or a bucket with weight added. ![]() The electric lift works great. ![]() ![]() ![]() Has a set of chains also. Paid $375. I checked CL and it was just posted. An hour later it was loaded up and paid for.

That's real nice, great score. I like that you're branching out from the q/l's with the O and now this n/f, your collection is swelling. Nice e lift and lights option, looks great. That's a sweet price for what you got, congrats
PS I always like seeing the frame cutout for the ole k321 to shoehorn in there, awesome

Was the lift an option or did it come with this model as standard?
I searched this form and didn't find much posting about the 147 model, do many here have one? I like how the factory cut and modded the frame to get the 14hp Kohler to fit also. The next models were the wide frames. That fixed the motor fitting problem..

Great snag! Hey, did grandpa make that ball hitch that was mounted to the top of the rear end? I'm actuality looking for something like that.

The rear hitch setup was indeed made by grandpaw . Looks real easy to make and use the rear plate bolts to mount.. REAL easy to mount. I put it on for the photos.. I have another that had a receiver made up to the cub..

Nice find on the 147!
Yes, they came standard with the E-Lift and over 15,000 of them made. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
