Thanks guys.

Well I still have the deck to get to, but of more interest is the 62 Original I picked up last week. http://onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=49426

Engine is all apart ( was not running when I got it) , the clutch is in a box ( the way I received it) wiring is butchered etc. Just the way I like them...

Those pictures I posted show those points. What am I missing?

Finally getting back to work on the deck. I measured tip to tip on the outside blades and it measures about 38 inch so I am assuming I have a 38 deck. I stripped, primed and painted the mule drive and the rack and got them installed today. I had to get new pulleys for the mule drive as neither one would turn. I don't know the last time this was used. The PO told me he never used it.

Need to decide if I am going to clean the deck up with wire wheel or drop it off to be sandblasted. I know the easy answer, but I will see how it goes.

Spent some time today taking the deck apart. Pleasantly surprised at the condition of everything. It did take some heat and some persuasion but got it all apart. Only broke off a couple of 1/4 bolts for the covers and the shroud that surrounds the blades. The pulleys slid off the spindles and the spindles came apart. Will do some more investigation, but on first blush the bearings look good. Someone had greased everything with what looks like white lithium grease at some point.

Hi, looking for a little help on PN for the outter blades on my deck

There appear to be at least two different PN that refer back to them selves and they both sub to two different PN's Can someone tell me the difference in these?

ih-490470-R1 optional with 473427-R3 subs to 759-3836
ih 473427-R3 optional with 490470-R1 subs to 759-3811

the 759-3836 seems to be almost 2x the price of the other.

Thanks

Bill

I have a stack of good used blades here, if you give me the length i can see what i have unless you're dead set on new ones.

Bill,

I don't know for sure because I haven't looked recently but usually they offered two different blades.. one with a standard edge and one with a hard carbide edge. Most of the time hard edge blades are quite a bit more

No not hung up on new.

According to the Parts the two shorter ones are 10.19LG and the center is 19.97LG. I am assuming the LG means long ????

Mine are really shot and the short ones are both around 9 3/4 and the long one is at 19 3/4
