You may need another one.

Another what?
All the parts seem like they are serviceable.

The tightness of the grease bolt make the spindle hard to spin.

I don't know what a "grease bolt" is. There is a grease fitting.... and a nut. But not a "grease bolt". I see a lot of greasy parts....... :biggrin2:

Maybe one of the bearings is in upside down. Tapers should face each other....

the tapers face each other.
sorry for misnaming the part, I'm new to Cub Cadets and this mower is new to me.
The part looked to be one piece, thanks for the info.

It's fixed!
The grease seal was not flush with the deck.
Easy for someone that's done this before, but all of this is new territory for me.
Now I know.

thanks for the help and patience.

Hope you cleaned all those parts before you put it back together. Bearings don't like dirt. Did you replace the seals?

rbarri2 02-20-2015 02:56 PM

I cleaned the parts and put new seals in. thank you.
Now onto the carb.

Thank you for your help.
Without members like you helping those who haven't done this before, we wouldn't have this online community, or any others.

I realize that new people ask some dumb questions and are slow learners, but its how we learn and are able to keep this old stuff going.

I know on other IH forums I'm on, it's easy to spot a new guy/girl, but it's even easier to welcome them and try to help.
This won't be my last dumb question, but I promise to try to help a new person someday if I can eventually get a feel for these things.

Glad you got it fixed. Good going. :beerchug:
