I enjoyed following this thread. Glad you got it sorted out.
I think you need to embrace the name "The Master" cause it fits. :beerchug:

Were you able to fix the miss in the motor?

I did a google search and found one 1872 with it. It looks like something that was carried over from the GTs for a short time, dads 1811 and a 782 frame I have both have the slot, but the fender covers it. Why it's there I don't know, I guess to save steel:biggrin2:

Found a pic of another one with that slot. :bigthink:

I have a 982 (984) that is a CCC built with that same slot. IIRC J-Mech said it was for the spring assist for the manual lift type GT machines but all supers had hydro lifts.

It is for a spring assist. I'm assuming that all frames went down the same stamping line and the early ones got all the holes that every tractor got. Other than being longer, they are the same. On a GT, the fenders would have covered it. I'd say Todd's is an early one. :beerchug:

Nice work Todd!

Thanks guys:beerchug:
Didn't know anything about any slot, heck never looked a super up close in my life, so didn't know something was different....
Pretty nice riding around on though, but kinda a bugger getting on, and can see it not working so good once I get the deck on:bigthink:that should be interesting....:biggrin2:

Upon further revue, the ruling on the field has been overruled. It's actually a little better than I thought.

THE ONLY thing rare is the operator:beerchug:

No, I'm only as good (not even close) as the company I keep...:biggrin2:

The only answer for that Lew, is sort of. Not all together, if that makes sense? Seems to be decent at WOT, but just not right below that. Everything seems to check out, and even made sure there was no corrosion in the plug boots as Jon mentioned earlier. I mean, I've heard worst, but there is still something wrong that ain't right.....

Drained the old Hy-Tran and installed a new filter, and figured I was that far I may as well install a set of reinforcement braces.
When I went to take the tires off, I thought man, these things are heavy. Yep, there loaded:beerchug:

I've got a model 123. Is changing the HyTran similar to how your doing it? Didn't realize u had to take that big back plate off. Nice job.

Looking good, is that cranberry sauce on the internal parts or rust.whatcha going to use to seal up the cover on the tranny?.

Yes it is very similar. Take out the bottom bolts that are holding your hitch on and just loosen the other ones above them, you may have to pry open the cover with a flat head screw driver. Have your pan under and ready.
Slowly let out on the other bolts and drain. You DON'T want them (bolts) to loose all at once because you'll have a mess.
When it's down to a trickle you can remove the cover. Don't forget the filter:beerchug:

Master Lew......of course it's cranberry sauce, you knew that:biggrin2: it's neither. Just some staining. I thought that also, but looking at it with a light, it's really nothing. Fluid was relatively clean, no nasty stuff at all...:bigthink:
I'm really liking this big pig:biggrin2: It's not as big as the Cub, but has as big of deck, and more hp.
I'm also going to build a rear hitch plate to tie the back in and strengthen it up some more:ThumbsUp:
