Progress Update

Its been a while since I have had time to work on the 2072. I've been buying parts and supplies all along but haven't done a lot of work. I finally got the frame in primer. I went with etching primer I got at Oreilly Auto parts. They have been very helpful and I am using Dupont brand supplies. Here are a few pictures.

Got the first coat of red put on the 2072 RestoMod tractor. I plan on a second coat of red then a coat of clear. Sorry for the picture quality the plastic distorts the light. I created a photo album and Ill post the link later for more pictures if your interested.

Oak,
First let me say the color is much better in person, the lighting in the garage makes it look funny. Very close to the BRS red if not exactly. I spent several months reading every paint post and review I could. I saved up some money and went to Oreillys and consulted with the paint pro and got all the info to spray Dupont. Bought some etch primer and began spraying primer. Enter real life :( My wife still isnt working so I had to use my paint money to pay bills. So I went to TSC and bought Majic paint, reducer and hardner. I know what everybody says but my budget just wouldnt allow for the more expensive paint. I sprayed the first coat Sunday with outside air temps at 70 and in the garage 72. Humidity was at 49% and I had my dehumidifier running. I mixed it by the directions adding an addition 10% hardner. Sprayed it with a HVLP gun. To my surprise it laid down great, was easy to spray and looks awesome. It has dried quickly and you can not scratch it easily. I have been keeping the garage warm 70-72 degrees. My plan is to lightly sand then respray a second coat and then a coat of clear. We will see how it goes. I am in no rush so drying time is not an issue. Guys please dont start a paint war I had to use what I could afford. I would be interested in any one who has sprayed this paint and the clear coat.
Thanks Don
