Finally a sunny day for painting

Luckily I had my deck and narrow rims for my 1000 cleaned & ready for paint. Sunny day with low humidity in WV, so I primed and painted off and on all day. Was able to mask and save the decals, and the yellow covers didn't need painted after I degreased and waxed them.

Also degreased and cleaned and waxed the under side of the tractor, mower carriage, differential etc. It's almost ready to take out and get dirty.

Ditto!

Can't wait for our weather to get somewhat consistent.

Great job Josh! That looks so sweet!

Guitar Guy 04-15-2011 10:36 PM

Hey thanks alot guys. I pretty much got it back together today and got the tri ribs on, and got the carryall frame from Merk (which looks to be superbly crafted). The local tire shop did a nice job installing the tires and tubes for $5 each. Here's a pic, and I got a few other pics of it outside today, I'll post later on the pic thread in the IH section.

I appreciate all the help you guys have given me, and big thx to Mike for hookin' me up with the narrow wheels. And the good thing is, you can see in the background, I still have all 4 turf tires on the wide wheels to put on once in a while, or maybe someday put ags on.:bigthink:

Your 1000 looks awesome, Josh! Now all you need, is a set of ags for the rear.

Josh, great work on the deck!! Looks awesome:beerchug: Your 1000 is stylin with the new paint and tri ribs!

Cubcrazy 04-16-2011 09:57 PM

Nice Josh!!
Those tri-ribs look nice on the 1000!!

Guitar Guy 04-16-2011 10:11 PM

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm enjoying the Cub, and I like the feel & look of the tri-ribs too.

Next project is going to be cleaning up that snow blade and hitting it with a couple of spray cans. It's already in pretty good shape. I'll probably round up an IH decal somewhere for it.

What size front tires are those? 4.00x8?

Jeff

Guitar Guy 05-02-2011 10:41 PM

Yes, Jeff, that is the size. The brand is Deestone. They're on ebay for around $37 + $17 shipping. I'm satisfied with them.

I am going to order these myself, the link is for an ebay sale of 2 tires, 2 tubes (tubes are recommended for these tires) for $52.00, shipping is $20.29, to your door for $72.29 best deal I could find on them!

I do not know the guy, only posting this for info, buy them where ever you like, this is just the best deal I have found on them, they are actually close enough to me that I may drive down there and have them install them as well as a set of ags for the rears.

JeffD 05-03-2011 09:47 AM

Thanks guys. Been watching these on ebay as well. It's hard to know what they will look like on a tractor with the picture they show on ebay. Those will work on my 100 for sure.

Jeff
