New guy from California

Yeah, there are some of us out here in California that dig garden tractors!
And if you want a good laugh, I found this one in Hollywood! No kidding, smack dab in the middle of the toilet, I mean town. (Sorry, don't get me started.)

For me it started when I decided I needed some property and a garden. I stumbled upon Garden Tractors and was fascinated with the little machines. I say little, 2 of us couldn't get my new Cub Cadet 123 into my truck today LOL. I will be going back tomorrow to pick it up with 2 friends this time.

As I was saying, I discovered garden tractors and had to have one, a 1977 Roper. That wasn't good enough so I got another Craftsman that I parted out and kept some parts and the implements. Then came the 2 1959 David Bradleys and implements, and with them a 1967 Massey Ferguson 10. I thought I was done for a while till I stumbled across the Cub Cadet 123 today with a mower deck, disc, and a rotor tiller. Yeah, I'm hooked.

The good news is I didn't have to sign up on this forum because I had already joined when I was considering another Cub Cadet a couple months ago. LOL

Now I have something to talk to you about so I think I will get with it.
I have spent some tome on this forum and believe it to be a good one.
Thanks in advance for answering all the stupid questions I will be asking.

Well, off to do some reading and asking of stupid questions till I know everything about my very cool new tractor. :biggrin2:

Welcome from all the way across the country, well almost as I live in PA. Your tractor is quite similar to my 102s and a bunch of us have either the same or similar models.

Glad to see another west cost guy. Cubs are a little scarse out here. but you found a good one. I also have a 123, love it because the model # is easy to remember.....:biggrin2:its a smooth riding machine ,great for mowing , I haven't put any implements behind her yet, but I'm sure she'll do fine. You made a nice catch.......

Welcome to the best cub site on the net.

maddog 03-27-2012 01:23 AM

Thanks!
I am just about to get into it. I have bought some tune-up parts, tires and a couple other things. I push it in and out of the shop everyday, that is getting old, its heavy. Its time to get it running and put it on some dirt.
