Yeah, there are some of us out here in California that dig garden tractors!
And if you want a good laugh, I found this one in Hollywood! No kidding, smack dab in the middle of the toilet, I mean town. (Sorry, don't get me started.) For me it started when I decided I needed some property and a garden. I stumbled upon Garden Tractors and was fascinated with the little machines. I say little, 2 of us couldn't get my new Cub Cadet 123 into my truck today LOL. I will be going back tomorrow to pick it up with 2 friends this time. As I was saying, I discovered garden tractors and had to have one, a 1977 Roper. That wasn't good enough so I got another Craftsman that I parted out and kept some parts and the implements. Then came the 2 1959 David Bradleys and implements, and with them a 1967 Massey Ferguson 10. I thought I was done for a while till I stumbled across the Cub Cadet 123 today with a mower deck, disc, and a rotor tiller. Yeah, I'm hooked. The good news is I didn't have to sign up on this forum because I had already joined when I was considering another Cub Cadet a couple months ago. LOL Now I have something to talk to you about so I think I will get with it. I have spent some tome on this forum and believe it to be a good one. Thanks in advance for answering all the stupid questions I will be asking. Well, off to do some reading and asking of stupid questions till I know everything about my very cool new tractor. ![]() |

Welcome from all the way across the country, well almost as I live in PA. Your tractor is quite similar to my 102s and a bunch of us have either the same or similar models.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
