Cub cadet 1650 What should I do

:Cub7::confused2.gif"

Hi guys I got a 1650 given to me by a friend of my dad's:biggrin2:. the tractor is complete minus the engine :bash2:which he put into his sons 108 for tractor pulling. Im not quite sure what to do with it, :bigthink:should i use it for parts for my two 1450's. I also have a 10 hp kohler and a 20 briggs should i try to put one of them in it? if so what engine do you think would work better would the 10 be strong enough to run the hydrolic lift? I would LOVE to know your guys and gurls opinion on what to do!

I would love to have a 1650, but personally, I would want the 16 HP Kohler! That's why it's a 1650!:biggrin2:

I'm not sure the briggs would fit. The 10hp might get you going until you can find a larger hp engine. But - keep in mind, there were a lot of 10 hp Cub Cadets that do a fine job. I've got a 109 that I am giving a workout and at first glance, I thought 10 hp wouldn't be enough, but this tractor with 44 inch deck seems to do fine. Easy on gas too.

Good luck,
Bill

I agree I would like a 1650 so I'd hang on to it and try to find a 16 HP kohler for it.

I think the 10 would power it enough but I'd hold out for a 14 or 16 hp depending on the condition it's starting in.

The 10 hp kohler I have is out of my brothers 109:beer2:, he put a 14 hp in it to get more power for lawn tractor pulling:beerchug:. The 10 is a great little engine and it will run the transmition but will it run the lift?:bigthink:

Put a 16 back in it!

How about putting a diesel in it?

:biggrin2:

Depends on what price you can get a decent K341?

I'd throw a used K301 or K321 as they run less. Maybe get crazy and throw one of the mild camshaft grinds in the motor and an engine kit.
