Starting a stock altered

Started by moving the front axle all the way out which gave me 49" of wheelbase and Ive been working on weight bars. Ive got the trans pan and belly bar done. Still working on the telescoping weight bar.

Sam Mac 02-10-2014 10:04 AM

Looks good. Haven't heard much from you in a while. How did it go for you pulling? :bigthink:

ACecil 02-10-2014 11:34 AM

Good job! :beerchug:

Not the best. Didn't have weight for the first one and the sled wasn't really set up well and neither was the track. Other then that the next pull was 175ft before it popped out of gear. I've hooked chain to a few of my buddies and beat them, but I've been kinda easy on it since i still have course axles and 26' tires. Can't wait to get my fine splines. I also broke a grade 8 drive shaft bolt the other week. Makes a nice pop, but a cheap 11 cent fix.

Sam Mac 02-10-2014 04:47 PM

Well at least your learning. My guess is that pulling is a lot like racing the first few years are like going to school, you find out what works and what doesn't.

Yes sir, pretty much

dvogtvpe 02-10-2014 07:21 PM

if you already broke a driveshaft bolt you have an alignment problem

I know. I made my own motor mounts the best i could. I'm buying the correct ones soon.

Plowboy1086 03-16-2014 12:11 PM

Thinking about powder coating the frame black and spraying the body panels with retro red metal specks. And maybe used grade 8 bolts for everything to give it a gold bolt look. Or maybe black chrome

J-Mech 03-16-2014 12:14 PM

I think you'd better spend your money on parts instead of paint............

Spend your money on getting tractor dialed in first.
Once you get the bugs worked out them the fancy paint job.
You never know how many changes you need to make before it is dialed in.

Plowboy1086 03-20-2014 11:38 AM

Whats a k341 without a carb worth? I bought the stuff to make my spindles not just need some new rims. Thinking about cutting my tires also. Have my eyes on some fine spline axles too. Buying the correct motor mounts and wide frame shifter from Kevin Muller hopefully going to own his RADICAL RED 582 sheet metal too.

You really don't know? I can move my weights on the front from 6'-8'' from the center of the rear axle by just pulling a pin

Little more fab and they'll look good. 122 fenders gonna look sweet!

OK. You'll have to post some pics of it once you get it all setup. Sounds like a good idea. I rotated your pics for you

Plowboy1086 03-27-2014 11:08 PM

Anyone wanna help me out by drawing me a wire diagram to wire up my k241 with a push button start? I wanna keep the charging system

R Bedell 03-28-2014 08:46 PM

:bigthink:

So, is my understanding correct, that the combination you want a diagram for, is a model 582 with a straight K241 (non QL engine)..??

Don't forget the circuit for the wipers! :biggrin2:

Your diagrams have been a great resource for many Cub owners, thanks for the work you put into them!

Yes sir that's what I'm looking for

R Bedell 03-30-2014 12:07 PM

AND....you want to use the 582 wiring harness to start this K-241 with a "push to start" switch instead of the Ignition Switch..??

Looking for just a custom one that I can just wire up the k241 for it to run with the charging system. With a push button start

Sam Mac 03-30-2014 09:07 PM

Sounds like something you need to work out on your own.
