Can't argue with you on this one.

I know right?

I should look through c-list and find one for sale, buy it and go trade the guy..... He's happy, and I'd be happy.

You could go to a Walmart buy a new one($300) and be money ahead :biggrin2:
What a idiot!

Can't get over trading for a game system. If it were near I'd grab a handful of cash and tell him to go buy a new system--we'd both be happy.

Don't know about the others. First one looks really nicely painted. Maybe he went through it mechanically as well. He may very well have that much tied up in it, unfortunately thats the reality we all face---put more into it than its worth--can be anything from video game systems to pickups to fishing/hunting gear etc. Bottom line, don't put more into it than you can AFFORD to lose.

Second one, probably same situation.

What gets me are folks asking a fortune for a junk pile. I see it quite often, more often on stuff other than Cadets. Most of the Cadets I see are reasonably priced, if you are going to buy it and run it. Forget about flipping them.

J-Mech 11-20-2016 04:47 PM

Oh, I found lots of them for good prices. Nothing I was interested in.... but lots of Cub's for sale within driving distance.

The guy wanting to trade for a game system has it listed in 3 different places. Only one of the ads has it listed for trade. The other two had a cash price on it. Like $450 IIRC. I found them after I made the post. Either way... pretty good price. I just thought it was dumb he would rather have a game system. Priorities I guess... :bash2:

Lets give him benefit of the doubt that he already has a nice mower or lives somewhere that lawncare is provided (apartment/townhome). I actually go to church with a guy that is a computer geek by trade that has a collection of gaming systems dating to the mid 80's--all operational. Hey, it takes all kinds. He does have a house and knowing him, he's probably got a fairly new mower.

400 cash I say,I would buy,yes indeed.

Yosemite Sam 11-20-2016 07:20 PM

I've seen the 1440 for sale, but this is the first time I've seen it for trade...

Since we don't know the situation, I'm going with the thought that the guy already has something to cut his grass with and is just jammed up for money and needs a Christmas gift for his kid.

I've also seen the other two, I hope they sell them for their asking prices, it just makes my stuff worth more and more all the time.

Yosemite Sam 11-20-2016 08:47 PM

Here's another crazy priced one you can add

drglinski 11-20-2016 09:11 PM

But...the 1200 has the super rare yellow cutting edge on the blade, and the 102 is the ultra rare IH red and white version. I think those were the "demonstrator" models. :ExtremeFunny:

bocephus1991 11-20-2016 10:12 PM

There's some good ones on clist. I sent Jon some links the other week. You look around St. Louis you'll find several that are wacky prices.

Maybe he inherited it, and it's just "not his thing". Or the "war department" said:

I think he did inherit it..... cause he says it was his dads.

Glad I command the "war department" in my house. :biggrin2: You guys who don't are wimps. Sad and true.

finsruskw 11-24-2016 10:10 AM

Gotta admit here, the guy w/the 1200, sure is a nice NF blade though.
I'd give him $125 fer that!

Oak 11-24-2016 10:20 AM

Here's a smoking deal in Atlanta.:biggrin2: I emailed asking him if he meant to say $200 and never got a reply.

Wow, what a deal!
Apparently, the creeper brings up the value? :bigthink:
