KwikWay Loader
What about this one? Looks like you could make a nice one out of this. But I want to put it on a Original, and it's 36 inches wide. Would fit my 124 without much work?

You would have to build a whole different subframe if you buy that one.
What do you want a loader for Ronnie? They aren't really very practical on a GT. |
The 124 is a much better option for a loader than an original, the frame on the O isn't full length and cracking where it bolts to the rearend is a common issue.

I'm not a fan of loaders on GT's. They just aren't made for it. The only GT that was that I can think of that was heavy enough, was the JD 318. JD thought so much of that GT that they designed and sold a loader for it. No one else did. That's why all the loaders are aftermarket. SGT's are built more suited to loaders. |

I agree. The Original is just to small or weak in the frame dept. Maybe I'll just save my $ and get the compressor I want. I need to get another buddy over to trim the Lelands. They are 50 of them, and were only around 8 feet when I planted them. Now their probally 25ft? But then I will have to keep on shoveling. :biggrin2::bigeyes::biggrin2:

With a yard like that, doesn't the gardener take care of those chores? Maybe you could talk the pool boy into it Ronnie.:biggrin2: :ROTF1::ROTF2:

It would be nice to have an O with a loader like Klejeune (one of the members on here)

Yea, that one is really nice. Bet it's a Danco? :biggrin2: If I ever put one on one of my Originals, I will just build it. That way you can use what materials you want and keep it light. Don't need anything to pick up a load of really heavy stuff. The chipped brick around the pool is the heaviest thing I would ever pick up, and could just get a little at a time. Those CAD plans John makes for the 1 arm loader looks good, wonder if you could use them and just put another arm on the other side? But, I really need a good compressor. I think about it every time I'm working in the garage. I don't have an endless supply of $$$, so I have to watch what I do. Not like the good old days, and my toys cost a lot.

put a loader on whatever you want...i see a guy mowing his yard with an "O", (or even just an old GT) and i just think hey, that is neat, and it sticks with you....then i get past the next place and the guy is on a whatever newer pile, and it just registers as nothing....just another yuppie perhaps...we used to clean out a free stall barn with a case 224 with a johnson loader on it...worked surprisingly good although the gehl skid loader was a major upgrade at the time....to each his own though...i see you like the old ones and i think thats cool...personally i could give a crap about creature comforts....like cars, and trucks...i
dont want a touch screen, just make the thing better!!!! just my own crazy opinion.....beautiful yard bud,and ive always wanted to tell you nice tractors |

Ronnie, I had a loader on my 1450 since 1992 and my 1650 before that and it has been the best investment I ever made for my cub. I used it all the time for jobs around the yard and for snow in the winter. I admit since I got my Yanmar 276d with a loader, I use the 1450 allot less, but I still use the 1450 around the house and for small jobs the Yanmar isn't worth starting up for. With mods that loader will work, if you can afford it and mount it yourself, you won't regret it. I have never had a problem with the frame but my uprights and push arms are mounted to the rear axle.

Ronnie, I just put a loader on a 149 and really like it. I haven't put it to good use yet, but it is very practical for the yard chores you are considering. Mine was a Work Horse loader and it is mid-mount on the frame. I had the valve shimmed and set to lift about 400 lbs. intentionally so that I did not overload it and break an axle. Keep your eye open and something will turn up for you! It took me a couple of years, but then the right deal came along.

She ain't mine, I got a good one. Let's me buy tractors, cars... This one may not.:biggrin2: |
I paid $1500 for a GT and loader, and its the best money I have ever spent!! I have bad knees and back and use it to pick up about everything. It will move rock, dirt, snow, firewood and anything you can hook a chain too. I used it to build a retaining wall out of railroad ties. Those sucker are heavy and I didn't have to lift a one.
Now if you were to give me $10,000 I would love a compact tractor and loader, but I still would'nt get rid of my GT and loader!! Randy |

Its a johnson 10 on a wheel horse 1277 which is a hydro. A johnson 10 would fit on a OCC if you built a proper subframe, but the OCC's are really not up to loader duty. The Danco's were a trip bucket design and no down pressure. They had a pretty strong subframe to help protect the lack of a proper frame on the cub. I would get a 10hp and up hydrostat cub if I were you and use cadloaders plans if you want to build. Randy |
