Cub 70 42” Mower Deck Restoration Complete
 

Just finished a full restoration of my 42” rotary mower deck. I removed every part individually and cleaned, sanded, primed, and painted them. 6 new spindle bearings, 6 new seals, 3 new spindle bolts/grease fittings, 1 new idler pulley, new blades (on order), 2 new 7” steel deck wheels, 2 new deck wheel mounting bolts, new grease-able idler pulley mounting bolt, 1 new Kevlar 77”x1/2” belt

Nice work. It looks like you had an unusually nice deck to start with. Most of those early decks are full of rust holes.

Yep, it was only surface rust and no holes. I did have to make the 1” hole in the right hand pulley cover to allow the grease fitting to stick through for the upgraded idler pulley mounting bolt.
