IH model 2 Tiller
I had purchased a model 2 tiller. It was on an 1811. The person I had bought it from, lived 3 hours away and brought it up to his cousins for me to pick up about 30 min away. I am having trouble mounting this on my 1811 with 3pt hitch. From what I was told, it was mounted on a 3 pt hitch without the arms, just using the bracket. What I'm finding out is that I can't get the gearbox mounting frame to mount on. It has a special handle on it that has a place for a pin at the top but I can't seem to figure it out any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Can you post some pictures?

here are some pics of what I have. They are all attachments b/c I doon't know how to just put pics straight onto the thread.

You're missing a piece that bolts onto the 3-point where the drawbar normally bolts onto.
|
what do you mean by drawbar. My thinking of a drawbar is that part that mounts onto the 3 pt arms to allow you to bolt a sleeve hitch adapter to.
Do you have a link or picture I could see Matt G. I would still keep the big black 3 pt plate on the tractor though right? |
Matt means the piece that hooks to the back where you would hook a lawn cart to. Right now your draw bar isn't on which is good, but he's saying there should be another piece (for the tiller gbox) that connects where the draw bar would normally connect to

I don't think I have a picture...:bash2:

ok gotcha, I just thought it was called a hitch or hitch plate. Thanks.

I think I might have found a picture of what you mean Matt G. There would be a plate that bolts onto the 3 pt and the gear box would just slide on and get pinned in the top where the top link would normally go? There are to little fins at the bottom of the handle bracket on the back of the gear box and my guess is they would just ride on that plate in the grooves on the back of it? And the bottom of the gear box mounting frame would be pull against the plate by the tension of the belt?

I have no idea what that picture's from, but that's definitely not it. I'll have to look and see if I have a picture.
