42 inch deck gauge wheel problem

10 Attachment(s)
Mounted the 42 inch deck on my 1450 this morning. Gauge wheels won't clear the 23x10.50 tires. What's the problem? I tried mounting the gauge wheels on both sides of the brackets, neither side worked. I'm going to try to mow with it as I remember seeing a 42 inch deck with no gauge wheels. Gauge wheel mounting brackets will not interchange side to side. There are 2 holes on top of the shell, close to the center, but no holes in the rear panel that goes down.

All of my 42 inch decks never had gauge wheels. To use the wheels I think you have to remove the steel hoops.

I think the hoops have to go, but also, the wheel is on the wrong side of the bracket, and the bracket is upside down. Do those two things and you should have several inches of clearance.

Got ya on this one ya young whippersnapper. Brackets will only mount as I have them shown. Can't reverse side to side or flip them over. I'll order a mule drive belt tomorrow an try without the wheels.
Thanks guys.

You have the wheels on the wrong side of the bracket and the bracket reversed. Here is a picture of how you can mount the wheels and brackets on your deck. This is found in our Implement Technical Library.

Man, you guys are as bad as my wife, always right. Course, that's why I keep coming back! Sorry Matt. Thought maybe once I could geta leg up on ya! Maybe my clearance problen is due to my skid bars being more flat than round?
Thanks for the pic. I was concerned with the brackets going above the deck. I see that is correct.
