1572 pto problems
 

I was cutting grass today I hit a bump and the pto turned off and would not come back on. I discovered the fuse had blown every time I turn on the pto the fuse blows. I unhooked the pto at the plug and turned on the switch and the fuse did not blow. Any ideas is the pto field shot? can I just change the field or do I have to get the entire pto? Can they be rebuilt? Any ideas where to get a used one.

The field coil, according to Cub Cadet, is NLA. You might try the sponsors listed above.

You might want to see if the lead in wire is grounded, or if the coil insulation is come off allowing the coil to rub on the rotating disc.
Sometimes the coil can be saved by using Hobby epoxy or even JB weld.
