new owner in central Wisconsin

I just got what I was told is a model
71 Cub Cadet.
don't know a lot about it other than it is yellow and white
but it seems to run ok
so far only things that I have done are oil change, new air filter and spark plug.
seems to me that the brakes could use some adjusting but first were are the brakes I do not see anything on any of the wheel hubs that look like they would be brakes

Welcome Oldhippie! I'm from Appleton. That is one sweet looking loader and cub! Looks like someone had extra stickers from a Farmall Cub and put those on your hood.

Where in heck did you find this cub set up? Congrats!

the brake is internal. the lever with the adjustable bolt is the brake. is seen in your last pic.

Nice loader!:beerchug:

I found it on craigslist, someone by Wisconsin Rapids had it.
any way to find out about when it was made? anything
available as far as shop manuels?
also it is going to need new front tires would like
to put a pair of these on the front
http://www.millertire.com/products/l...e-3-rib-front/
but I noticed that those tires are only rated for 435 lbs
so with the loader would that be to much for those tires?
I will have to look under the tractor and see if I can find
that lever and if there is anything to adjust for brakes

If I were you, I'd stick with the smooth front tires if you're planning to use it...it will get even harder to steer if you put tri-ribs on it. The optional wider front tires would probably help some, too.

thanks very much, those manuals will be very helpfull.
I need to fix were the bucket pivots on the loader arms
all that there is is a bolt through each side of the bucket
and it tendes to bind a bit
to me that does not seem to be a factory set up
also need to find or make something for rear wheel
weights, pick up something with the loader and back of
tractor wants to lift
would also like to find or make a back blade

Your welcome! This is what I did for my son's 125 with Kwik-Way loader. Incase you want to know there's 818 lbs with me in the seat and it still seems light in the rear.:beerchug:
