Hello from Kentucky

This is my first Cub. It's a 1772d model, and also my first time ever joining a forum. I.love the Cub. It's heavy, stay's on the ground, and does not beat me to death. I have a serious back problem. I have one of the cheaper j.deere's model L130 it's not bad but the Cub is much better. The Cub is a diesel you guy's probably know that from the model #. I do have a problem with it. When it gets hot or about an hour into working it it starts cutting out. It does not quit just sputters and goes on and it keeps on doing this. I'm trying to figure it out with no luck. hoping to learn more about the Cubs here. It's good to be here.

Welcome to OCC. Glad to see another KY smoker! I also have the diesel and it would help if you defined "hot" a little better. I have to very regularly clean my radiator. On the advice of DX I use a quality antifreeze and distilled water and I also use diesel fuel additives with every tank. I can run the BRS all day and stay in the normal range. There are lots of diesel owners that will be glad to help.

I've been lurking on the group for a while. I have an 1872 which I purchased new back in the late 80s. I am in the process of buying an 1811 which will need some TLC.
I am a retired jet engine mechanic, engineering test tech, wrote maintenance manuals for gas turbine engines for a year or so, and worked on experimental and development jet engines as a member of an Evaluation Engineering Team.
A total of 37 years experience working on and with jet engines.
I am about 25 miles south of Cincinnati, OH
