While I was cleaning out the barn of the property we recently bought I found these.

16 pieces of 8"x10"x 16' old pine timbers>

I'm not sure what the heck I'm going to do with these, but they sure are nice and heavy! I have had a few friends look at them and one said I should get a band saw and cut them in 1" slabs. I thought about another barn or lean-to, but I really don't know.

Any suggestions of what to do with these and put them to the best of use?

Those are impressive! They would make great support beams for the barn expansion.:beerchug:

do your homework on them, if they are old barn timbers , you'll find they are worth some jack.

would also be nice for the start of a 40x80 house for the cubs.

Old Wood can be worth a lot if it has the right tight grains and straight. DO some homework, although pine isn't the most desirable because it is a soft wood, they still may be worth some $. Also I wouldn't cut them into slabs, their use is better when they are whole. Plus... There is no way you could really cut something that large on a bandsaw...

Are they hand hewn or saw mill cut? If hand hewn they are worth some $$ . If they are old growth they are still desirable, people use them as a beam or saw them into tongue and groove flooring. I'd do a little homework on them before using them. You may get enough out of them to triple the wood you have there.
