1864 oil seal and carb upgrade

I'm headed to pick up a new cat 0 toy for the 1864 and spring is coming so thought I would get the 1864 ready for work.:beerchug: Looks like this has been leaking oil for a while. I guess with Uncle Gene having the oil shop it was cheaper to put oil in then replace the seals.:bash2: I've got lots of degreasing to do.:bash2:

Duke

While you have the engine out don't forget to clean and re pack the CV joint for the tilt steering, you may need to also remove the battery tray to get at it. I'd pop the flywheel off before you wash it since you’re going to be inside that area anyway for the stator and rear seal. Glad to see it doesn't have the SAM ignition module. :beerchug:

Good pics, Duke! The engine in my 1872 was also just degreased!

Drive up to Virginia to wash that engine. The snow coming down will cover all the grease at the car wash while you make your getaway!!

:bigthink:
