682, should I buy?

There is a guy on craigslist that has a 682 for sale with no motor for $600. He said he will go down to $400 but I know I will have to put in a lot of time and money into her to get it going so I was wondering if I could get some advice from fellow members.

No motor for $400 yikes to high for me but look for a sears 6000 GT and repower it with a mag 18. I got my sears for $200 and Adam sold the roller for $100 for me.:beerchug:

$100, would be a stretch!! These are antiques!! :bigthink:

I agree 400 seems abit high. Personally I probably would go maybe 200 depending on the condition of it and the deck. Around here (ohio) it seems people want some good $$ for a replacement motor. So i'd figure another couple hundred on a good engine plus your time getting it in and running. But good luck with whatever you decide. Always wanted a red head :biggrin2:

Im thinking I could put in a K series motor like Plowboy1086, but $400 would be a okay deal if the motor was in it.

I agree. Even if the motor didn't run, it wouldn't take much to get it to. ok dumb question but did they come with a briggs?

Yeah 400 is too much for an no engine. I wouldn't give more than $250.

Cub Cadet 1650 03-25-2013 01:11 AM

originally he wanted $500 for it lol

Maybe $200, but it would have to have the driveshaft too at that price. You can throw a lot money in something buying all the little things.

By the picture, I would say its not in that great of shape either.
