Changed to 48' deck
 

Ok, I made the change from the 60' deck to the 48. My question is, the pullies on the deck are different sizes the 60 is 6 1/2 and the 48 is 5. Will this be a problem ? If so will the pully on the 60 just unbolt and bolt to the 48. Any other things I should look for. Thanks :bigthink:

the pulley on the 60 is on the center blade spindle,the 48 &54 is a seperate pulley assy. the 48 pulley being smaller will turn the mower faster ,and if i remember correctly the bottom pulley is larger than the top one that the pto belt runs on which would slow it back down

No they are the same size,,,,,will this work having the smaller pulley ?

what model 48 in deck you have they were used on both tractors that used a 4 1/2 in pto pulley and 6in

317 is the deck number

any other thoughts

as far as I can see the 317 deck was used on both size pulleys but most times when they went to the 6 in pto pulley the top pulley was bigger to slow the deck down

So then I should be ok
