battery cables?
 

Who makes there own battery cables? If so what wire do you use? #10 or is it #8. 10 looks thin. I was even thinking going to #6.

I use #2 gage and I solder the ends on.

#2 wow that's heavy.I guess heavier is better. What solder do you use?

Don't remember what the solder is, something I've had for years.

General purpose flux core solder.

You can find them at Lowes or TSC you should also be able to get cable at TSC

I put the end in the vise open end facing up, heat it with a propane torch, melt the solder in it till it full then slip the cable into the molten solder. I continue heating it till the solder has soaked into the cable. Cool it off, clean it up slip the heat shrink tube over it and heat that with a heat gun.

Do you guys still use #2 gauge to the starter also. I want to run new cables on my 149.

#2 is a little overkill for the starter wire, but I like heavy-duty.

#6 would be a minimum for starter wire, IMO.
