Front Wheel Zerks
Can't get my grease gun to lock onto these front zerks. What can I do?
|
Try a different grease gun. If that wont stick and the zerks are clean, then replace the zerks. I had a deuce and ahalf in the service that had 55 zerk fittings. I found that the greasegun quality and the wear of the grease gun "female end". Played a big part.

front wheel zerks
What I meant to say was that there's not enough room between the zerk and the wheel to allow my grease gun end to fit in there. The zerk is straight. Do they make angled zerks?
|
Yes, and they also make a right angle end for a grease gun.
|
OK, good! I'm gonna look for both. Thanks.

Front Wheel Zerks
I've checked all area car parts stores and can't find any angled zerks or angled grease gun ends. Anyone know of any online source I might try?

NAPA
TSC Farm Store or any decent auto parts store with the orange steel cabinet of "Dorman" products. |
That's where I went - auto zone, napa, farm tractor. they all had angled zerks but not long enough. the cub cadet zerks have a long neck that screws into the wheel, so the standard short zerks won't work.

What tractor is this on? Did you try Cub Cadet? How about a picture...... :bigthink: |
How about a pic of what you have. I find it hard to believe that you can't get a standard gun on these fittings. I've never had a problem using a regular gun to grease the wheel bearing fittings.
