Battery?

Ok question - My cub 126 runs pretty good for about 20 min or so then dies. I have to jump it every time you wanna start it. I am pretty sure its not a fuel problem, I cleaned the tank very well. I have new points, set at twenty, new condenser, new coil (all Kohler brand) and correct for my twelve horse engine. So if the battery only holds a charge for a little bit, would that cause it to stop running? With cars I know, they will run off the alternater but will these run off the generator?

Take the battery to a reputable place and have it "load tested", and then we can go from there.

You should be able to run the tractor with the battery unhooked provided the charging system is working. Try jumping it and unhooking the positive terminal and see if it dies.

Either the generator isn't charging, or the voltage regulator is bad. My 100 stopped charging and it ended up being the field wire was broke loose from the post inside the generator.

Possum

You may want to download and read the service manual for the 126, here is the link but I know you are not fond of reading manuals from the last deal we went through.
