1572 seat safety switch
Hi, I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. When I purchased my 1572 it did not have a seat safety switch, it was bypassed. Recently I purchased a NOS switch from IHCCW INC, but I do not know how to properly mount it.
I'm hoping someone would post a picture of a similar tractor with one installed. Thanks, Dennis F |
Hi dad!
Here's a picture of the switch my father purchased. By the way, my dad is 73 years old and I'm pretty sure this is his 1st post anywhere ever on the internet! http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps8147a420.jpg |

Lets see a pic of the bottom of the seat. There should be a hole on the bottom side but if the seat was changed it may not be there.
Do you have this part of the harness? They may have cut it and stuffed it under the fender pan. It should be an orange and yellow wire that plugs into your new switch. Attachment 61704 Attachment 61705 |

Hello Dennis and Paul. Welcome to the forum Dennis! I don't know how much I can do from here at work, but I'll try. Taking a look at your original photo, I have circled the mounting tabs on the switch in red. If I remember this correctly, as I just replaced the switch on my 1772. With the seat positioned so that the metal part of the base is facing up, you should see a series of 3 square holes. The mounting tabs on the switch should be facing upwards as well as the metal base of the seat. Insert the long metal part off the switch into the large square hole and slide it in so the whole switch is between the metal pan the seat cushion foam. Once all the way inside the seat, simply slide the switch backwards while keeping the switch beneath the metal pan until the mounting clips/fingers can attach/clip onto the strips of metal between the 3 square holes. A picture says a 1000 words and I wish I had one right now of a mounted seat switch.
