leave them out

Most ppl are told to leave them out because when they go bad they tend to put a big fat window in the block, nobody wants that.
That said, some ppl replace the needle bearings/shafts that are worn and don't intend to run them over recommended rpm's, so they would be safe to use them.
A lot of ppl can't tell the difference with them in or out, others do see a difference but most agree it is not a big difference.
and IIRR the 16 hp don't come with them.
So it is your call.
You can't go wrong leaving them out, as no window effect will present itself.:bigthink:

After I am finished with this restoration project i highly doubt ill be doing anything heavy with this tractor mainly just for shows. But if there is not much difference with or without them i think im just going to go ahead and leave them out. Thank you both for your help.

I would leave them out. All they are is a hand grenade waiting to explode. I took them out of my k321.

:Morning: The first thing I do, when tearing down a K-series that has grenade gears is throw them in the scrap bucket. :American Flag 1:

Kirk Engines has a crank balance plate that really smooths a 301. A bit pricey with installation but well worth it. What a difference!
