1812 hydro question
I have broke 2 spring pins in the drive shaft this summer, the ones right next to the hydro coupling, the pins are driving in tight, it is not getting abused I am a pretty easy operator. just think its a little unusual to break these pins. In 20 years of running cubs its the first 2 pins that I have broke. I have noticed that the hydro is a little jumpy espically in reverse. Any ideas?

I bought an 1811 from a guy that kept shearing the pins and when i got it home and working on it there was only two bolts holding the engine to the plate and they were loose. Needless to say , the engine was dancing around.
Something is wrong somewhere , maybe start there first . |
All bolts are tight

are you using spirol pins? or single wrap? check the springs on your trunnion the inner one when broken causes a jerky hydro.
