782 K17 Kohlar Points Cover screw size

My engine has both a fine thread and course thread screw in the points cover. Neither one fits happy. What should be in there? 10-24 or 10-32?
This guy sells an ignition to replace the Condensor. Too bad you still need the old style Points. They are a bear to get to unless, at the very least, take the complete air cleaner assembly off the Carburetor. I'd hate to drop those screws down the Carb throat.

It uses a 10-24 screw. Use a baggie and rubber band over the carb to prevent dropping anything down the throat. Personally, I would use the basic Kohler condenser and points, set it according to the manual and forget about any special stuff.

Just close the choke if your concerned, and the screws won't "fall" into the carb. because it is a horizontal throat, so a magnet tool easily retrieves them if they drop into the elbow.:beerchug:
use allen heads they are easier to install/hold.
