Garden Plow Guidance
 

Started looking for a used garden plow for my cub. I know nothing about plows.

I found one but the setup seems a little different than the Brinly ones I see elsewhere. The angle adjustment is by the front of the plow instead of in the rear.

Anyone used a plow like this?

Should I just keep looking for a brinly or other brand?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I think that is a Sears or Roper plow.. It should work just as well as the Brinly.. doesn't really matter where the adjustment is.. That controls the angle on the point and helps determine how deep the plow runs.. If you shorten that upper link the plow will run deeper.. if you lengthen it should run more shallow.. Same principle on the brinly or any turn plow (moldboard plow) for that matter! They are easy to use and a lot of fun to plow with when set up and adjusted correctly!:beerchug::beerchug:

At least hook it up, and see how it "looks" on fit. But as Jay said, there all the same, for the most part.:bigthink:

I've seen numerous plows like that at the different plow days that I have been to and they work just as good as a Brinly. If the price is right grab it. It's all a matter of getting them dialed in. :beerchug:

Asking $100 but they have been trying to sell it for a month.

I owned and plowed with a plow like that one. My plow has a Sears id tag on it.

It is a good plow as long as the point is good and the coulter turns.

A good way to if it has a good point is to put the plow on a cement floor and check to see how much gap there is behind the point.

Bad thing about the plow there is no replacement parts for it.

That is a good price.. you won't find a Brinly that cheap

I picked up the plow today. Turned out to be in pretty good shape. Angle adjuster was frozen but after some pb blaster and a pipe wrench was able to free up the adjuster.

Time to weld up a sleeve hitch adaptor for tractor!
